Due to the pandemic, it has been closed since March of last year. Earlier, Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) has demanded for re-opening Kartarpur Sahib Corridor as they believe COVID-19 is now under control.
Likewise, Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) who manages Gurudwaras in Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh had earlier also appealed to the Centre to reopen the corridor.
The corridor allows Sikh pilgrims to travel visa-free to Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib in Pakistan's Narowal district, where Guru Nanak Dev spent the last 18 years of his life.
