NEW DELHI, INDIA: This has been one of the biggest political controversies erupted just ahead of the General Elections 2019 in India. Rahul Gandhi's meeting with the Muslims, in July 2018, has sparked the massive fire that is still raging for five days. A day after the meeting, an article appeared in Urdu Daily quoting the Congress President Rahul Gandhi's saying:
Yes, Congress is the Muslim Party. If BJP says that the Congress is the party of the Muslims, it is fine. Congress is the party of Muslims because Muslims are weak and Congress always stands with the weak.
BJP had claimed last week that Rahul met Muslim Leaders and told them that the Congress Party is all for Muslims only. On the other hand, Rahul alleged Congress is a Muslim party Common blew up on Monday when another Muslim Daily and Urdu Daily claimed that the Chief of the Indian National Congress's Minority cell confirmed Rahul's remarks.
This was an easy step ahead for tensed Bhartiya Janta Party(BJP) to train guns on Congress President Rahul Gandhi, of which the first salvo was fired by the Defence Minister of India, Nirmala Sitharaman. Not only the Defence Minister but the Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi also quoted the article in his rally in the city of Azamgarh, Uttar Pradesh.

Congress too came out blazing all the guns against the BJP. After the days of the unrelenting attack on Rahul Gandhi and The Congress Party for the 'Muslim Charge'. The Congress President Rahul has finally broken his silence with a tweet in which he quotes:
I stand with the last person in the line. The exploited, marginalised and the persecuted. Their religion, caste or beliefs matter little to me.— Rahul Gandhi (@RahulGandhi) July 17, 2018
I seek out those in pain and embrace them. I erase hatred and fear.
I love all living beings.
I am the Congress.
