Arvind Kejriwal, the National Convenor of AAP, pledged to offer households with electricity round-the clock as well as 300 free units of electricity each month if his party is to win assembly polls next year.
Aam Aadmi Party's chief Arvind Kejriwal assured Punjab that his government will provide a major voting inducement for elections to next year's parliament — 24-hour electricity, 300 free units per family and an exemption from previous power bills. Mr. Kejriwal pointed to Delhi in front of elections, where he made such pledges, "This is the promise of Kejriwal, not the vows of the captain. Our promises are fulfilled. Even after five years Captain's assurances were not delivered"
Up to 300 units will also be provided free of charge to every home in the state. "This is going to have zero power bills about 77% to 80% of Punjab's population," he added.
He reminded his audience of the promise of 24X7 power supply up to three years.
AAP had hoped to capture neighbouring Punjab after 2 years following its 2015 triumph in Delhi. However it had not been able to get enough votes on its pledges, which included 25 lakh employment, 5 meals, free Wi-Fi, corporate programmes, old-age pensions, and drug-free government.
