The case of alleged income tax evasion against Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh and his son Raninder Singh has been adjourned till December 23.
No proceedings took place in the case as Chief Judicial Magistrate Prabhjot Singh Kaleka was not on duty today. The case was fixed for hearing arguments of the Income Tax Department on the point of summoning.
On July 29, 2019, the department had concluded the evidence of its officers, namely Amit Dua and Amanpreet Kaur. It also produced certain documents as additional evidence.
In its complaints, the department has alleged that the accused willfully attempted to evade taxes and penalties imposable under Income Tax Act, which was a punishable offence.
