Ludhiana, December 14
Various groups of farmers and farm workers today held protests at the Mini Secretariat and the Punjabi Bhawan here. The protesting farmers and workers paid tributes to the farmers and labourers who had lost their lives during the struggle.
With senior leaders protesting in Delhi, local activists of BKU-Lakhowal, Kadian and Ekta Ugrahan and Kisan Sagharsh Committee held the fort at the district level.
The protesting farmers asserted while the farmers would suffer severe economic loss, the consumers would end up paying more for the agricultural products once they were controlled by the corporates as per the new legislations. They made an earnest plea to the government to withdraw the laws in the larger interest of the farming community. — OC
