US Midterm Elections 2018: The Split Control of Congress, Little Progress in Washington

New Delhi, India: This is a very significant defeat for President Trump and historic accomplishment for Democrats. Republicans have maintained the control of the Senate but the Democrats have flipped enough seats in the House to win back the control of one chamber of Congress, which is more than enough to stall any major legislation that would advance Trump's agenda including major economic policies like taxes, immigration, health care or trade. Thereby, The Split Control of Congress could bring two years of little progress in Washington.

These results are expected to change the power balance in Washington. In the elections held in 2016, the Republican Party had a majority in both the Houses of the Congress, but now the result of mid-term elections may cause President Trump to experience difficulty in governing. Though the counting of votes is still going on across the country and voting is going on in some states.

President Donald Trump's Party Republican has retained its majority in the Senate, but the Lower House of Representatives will be dominated by Democrats. The results of the mid-term elections after the 2016 presidential election are now going to be far-reaching on the US and global capital.

Since the elections of 2016, President Trump has been using the immense power of power due to the majority in both the Houses. Now there is a situation like "Power and Balance" for President Trump due to the majority of Opposition Democrats in the Lower House. It was already anticipated that if Democrats won a House and Republicans in one House then the Trump Administration would face a stressful situation.

In the elections, the Republican party dominated the Senate, but the Democrats made a strong return to the House of Representatives. Trump is no longer in a position to enjoy unlimited power with its aggressive attitude. Democrats will prove to be a great obstacle to completely eliminate Obama's careers and other such plans for them. Now the situation has changed and the Democrats are in the lower house. The midterm elections are considered as a comment on the current President's tenure in America.

Thereby, The Split Control of Congress could bring two years of little progress in Washington.
